Effective: 4 October 2026
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These are the terms for using StumpNote. We have tried to write them in plain language. If something is unclear, contact us at hello@sherlabs.com.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
StumpNote is operated by Nilesh Chanuka Jayanandana Hetti Hewage trading as Sher Labs (ABN/company number 77 387 397 893), of 19 Clubrush Gr, Officer VIC 3809, Australia ("StumpNote", "we", "us"). These terms cover the StumpNote player app (iPhone, Apple Watch, Android), the StumpNote web app, and the StumpNote Coach and StumpNote Parent apps (together, "the app").
By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. On Apple devices the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If it conflicts with these terms, Apple's EULA governs your use of the app on Apple devices for the points it covers.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 to create your own account. Under 13, a parent or guardian creates and manages the profile in the StumpNote Parent app.
- If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian knows you use StumpNote. Guardians can see what the sharing settings allow (see the Privacy Policy, section 7).
- Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@sherlabs.com if you think someone else has access.
- You can sign in with email, Sign in with Apple or Google. One person, one account.
3. What StumpNote is, and what AI can and cannot do
StumpNote is a journal and planning tool for cricketers. It uses AI to find patterns in what you write or say, and to help with plans, drills, briefs and answers.
- AI provider. AI features are powered by Google (Gemini, and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech for spoken sessions), through our servers. The app asks your permission before it sends your data to AI, and you can withdraw that permission in Profile, AI data sharing. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent.
- AI can be wrong. Insights, scores, plans and answers are generated automatically and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
- Not medical advice. StumpNote is for reflection and training. It is not medical, psychological or professional advice, and it does not diagnose or treat anything. If you are struggling, or you are injured, talk to a doctor, a professional or someone you trust. In an emergency call your local emergency number.
- Training is your responsibility. Take your own care with load, injuries and safety. Health and watch data are estimates, not clinical measurements.
4. Subscriptions and billing
StumpNote has a free tier with limits. Paid plans are auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock more features. The plans on offer, what each includes and its price are shown on the in-app paywall before you subscribe. Prices are charged in your local currency and may change; a change applies from your next renewal and you will be told first where the store requires it.
Apple App Store (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch)
- Period and price. Each plan renews every month at the price shown on the paywall at the time you confirm.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current price.
- Manage or cancel. Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose StumpNote and tap Cancel. Deleting the app or your StumpNote account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel first.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, any unused part is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles billing and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund App Store charges.
- Restore. On the paywall, tap Restore to recover a plan you already bought, for example on a new device.
Google Play and web
On Android the same terms apply with Google Play in place of Apple: the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you manage or cancel it in the Subscriptions section of the Google Play Store. If web purchases are offered, they are processed by our payment provider and managed from the link in your receipt email.
Access we give you
We may give access to paid features for a period without charge, for example a trial when you choose the Coach module at sign-up. We can end such access, and when it ends your account returns to the plan you pay for, with your data kept.
5. Your content
Your journal entries, recordings, clips, plans and other content stay yours. You give us a licence to store, process and display it, and to send it to the AI provider you agreed to, only so we can run the app for you and the people you choose to share with. You promise you have the right to the content you add, including recordings and video of other people.
6. Sharing with coaches, teams and guardians
Coaches, captains and guardians only see what the sharing rules and your choices allow (Privacy Policy, section 7). Players and coaches agree to treat what they see about others with care, to use it only to support that person's cricket, and not to share it further without consent.
7. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- break the law or someone's rights, or upload content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexual or that targets or endangers a young person;
- impersonate someone, or create accounts for other people without their or their guardian's permission (managed profiles for your own child are fine);
- try to access other people's data, probe or disrupt the service, or work around limits, age checks or security;
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the app or its AI output at scale, or use it to build a competing AI model;
- send us content you do not have the right to share, or content that includes health or personal details of others without their permission.
Fair-use limits apply to voice and AI features so the service stays reliable for everyone. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
8. Young players and guardians
Under-13 profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who attests that they are the child's guardian and consents on the child's behalf. Guardians can review, export and delete a managed child's data and can end their link at any time. Some features (for example health auto-sync and analytics) are turned off for young players. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on services we do not control, including Apple (sign-in, App Store, HealthKit, push), Google (sign-in, Gemini, Text-to-Speech, Analytics), RevenueCat (subscriptions) and Supabase (hosting and storage). Their own terms apply to their services, and they may change or be unavailable.
10. Deleting your account and ending use
You can delete your account and its data at any time inside the app: Profile, then Delete account in the player app. See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and when. Cancel any subscription with Apple or Google first; deleting an account does not cancel it.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law, or if we have to stop offering the service. If we end your access without a breach by you, we will give reasonable notice where we can and let you export your data.
11. Availability, warranties and liability
We work to keep StumpNote reliable but it is provided "as is" and "as available", and features may change or be withdrawn. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by AI output you chose to rely on, and our total liability to you for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose (or a nominal amount if you paid nothing).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under consumer or other law that cannot be excluded or limited, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Courts of that place have jurisdiction, but this does not take away protections you have under the mandatory consumer law where you live.
